Tuesday, June 28th, 2011
caitlinaliceinwonderland asked:

I live in PA and I’m graduating with my bachelor’s degree in Psychology this May. I’m planning to go on for my Masters in Counseling in PA as well. However, after I graduate with that, I may be moving to another state. If I’m licensed in PA, will it be too difficult to relocate to another state (probably SC)?

Mrs. Lira asked:

I am going to finish my B.A. in Psychology in less than 1 yr and I qualify for the master’s degree in Rehabilitative Counseling. Basically you study about the effects of being disabled (mentally , physically, etc) either by accident or birth and you help these people to be active in society. You help them to rehabilitate themselves into society..being productive etc.

The pay is around 57,000dlls a yr which is NOT much at all.. but what do you think?

How is christian counseling degree and traditional counseling degree different?

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011
Calypso asked:

I believe strongly in Jesus and I believe reading the Bible can heal people, but also I think Christian counselors should have a good background in psychology.
I told this women at my church I wanted a social work degree and she said I should get a Christian counseling degree. I’m not too sure about that. I believe I use both together, but I don’t need a Christian counseling degree to do it.

She is not my best friend, but we used to hang out when we were younger but we have gotten closer recently because her best friend just died last month. She gets teased in school, and her parents can’t afford therapy. Is there anyway she could acquire (free) guidance counseling at my school, but confidentially?

Should I major in general psychology if I want to become a counseling psychologist?

Friday, January 14th, 2011
TreeHugger asked:

I would like to become a counseling psychologist. Specifically focusing on addiction, OCD, and other tendencies. Would my best bet be to major in the general Psychology or should I look for more majors in Counseling Psychology.

Would it be okay to major in general psychology? Would this give me more options, yet still allow me to lean more towards counseling rather than clinical?
I also am not really interested in doing it within a school, like being a “school counselor” or anything of that nature.
